Australia

Clinton & I recently did a 3 week trip to Australia.

We flew to Melbourne, then on to Perth. Such grand cities and so much to see and do. From Perth we took the Indian Pacific Train from Perth all the way across the continent to Sydney. It took 3 days & 3 nights. We took the Gold Kangaroo service so we had our own accommodations and meals. The trip was fun. The most fun was getting an opportunity to do lots of visiting on the train with other people from all over including Australians. Sydney

The interior of Australia is a vast nothing waste land, but we did get to stop and take a tour of the Kalgoorlie Gold Mine (which is so big and still growing...so interesting!).

We also stopped in Adelaide for a quick tour. That's a neat city too. We had been there before and have gone to the Barossa Valley winery area as well as stayed at a sheep station. Then we arrived in Sydney. After a couple of days we flew up to Cairns where we went up to the rain forest by the Kuranda Skyrail, stayed in Port Douglas for a couple of days and went on the Quicksilver Great Barrier Reef day trip. While there we went by helicoptor over the reef as well as snorkeled and had a great time! The last week we spent on the gold coast out of Brisbane at Surfers Paradise and drove all around. What beautiful beaches, great people and lots of sunshine. It was a great trip!

We booked all of our hotels before we left and had a car rental in both Cairns and Brisbane. Since we have been before, it was a little easier for Clinton to drive on the opposite side of the road.

Jamaica

I had a fun week in Jamaica. We stayed 2 nights each in Ocho Rios, Negril and Montego Bay. We saw many hotels and some local attractions. We got to climb Dunn's River Falls, a 600 foot cascading water fall, went rafting on the Lethe River and walked many a beach. We saw lots of people riding bikes too. We drove by many nice golf courses.

Jamaica offers something for everyone. From the convinence and history of Montego Bay, to the natural beauty, tropical gardens and fern gullys of Ocho Rios, to the laid back atmosphere, gorgous white beaches and incredible sunsets of Negril. Jamaica has a personality and charm the keeps bringing guests back for more. You can have the all-inclusive plan or an EP (without meals), which ever fits your needs.
